How to

  1. Begin by drizzling mustard over the rib tips. Sprinkle PitmasterX Classic BBQ Rub generously over the rib tips.
  2. Mix thoroughly to ensure the rub is evenly distributed.
  3. Preheat your Masterbuilt AutoIgnite to 120°C or 250°F. Add chunks of smoking wood to the charcoal to infuse the meat with a rich smoky flavor.
  4. Place the prepared rib tips directly onto the grill grates of the smoker, ensuring they are arranged in a single layer to allow for even smoking.
  5. While the rib tips are smoking, prepare the PitmasterX Sweet Apple BBQ Sauce according to the recipe.
  6. After approximately 2.5 hours of smoking, check the internal temperature of the rib tips using a meat thermometer. They should register around 92°C or 198°F when fully cooked.
  7. Once the rib tips reach the desired temperature, brush them generously with the PitmasterX Sweet Apple BBQ Sauce, ensuring each piece is coated evenly.
  8. Allow the sauced rib tips to continue smoking for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to caramelize slightly.
  9. Remove the rib tips from the smoker and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve hot with additional PitmasterX Sweet Apple BBQ Sauce on the side for dipping.
