  • 120 ml / 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 60 ml / 1/4 cup apple juice

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp chipotle flakes

  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup

  • 120 g / 1/2 cup sugar

How to

  1. Begin by taking one kilogram of chicken wings and generously seasoning them with PitmasterX chicken seasoning to ensure they are evenly coated.
  2. Meanwhile, fire up your barbecue and preheat it to 200°C or 390°F. Once the grill is hot, place the seasoned chicken wings on the grill. 
  3. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce by combining half a cup of ketchup, a quarter cup of apple juice, one teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, one teaspoon of chipotle flakes, one tablespoon of chicken seasoning, two tablespoons of maple syrup, and half a cup of sugar in a saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Grill the chicken wings until they are crispy and cooked through, typically about 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Serve the grilled chicken wings with the spicy BBQ sauce on the side or brushed over the wings for an extra flavor boost.
