One pan steak dinner recipe
Instead of all these extravagant Dorito briskets and enormous cheesesteak pinwheels, I will show how to make the easiest steak dinner using just one pan. This is the recipe you need when you haven’t got much time during the week. You can make this whole recipe, including prepping the ingredients, in under 30 minutes.
- 1 piece ribeye steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pieces onion diced
- 2 pieces carrots sliced
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 50 grams salami cut in strips
- 5 pieces button mushrooms chopped
- 300 grams tomatoes canned diced
- 1 twig oregano fresh
- 1 twig rosemary fresh
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ cup Orzo pasta
- 300 ml water
Fire up your grill with direct heat. Put a cast-iron skillet on the grates and put in two tablespoons of olive oil. When the pan is screaming hot and the oil starts to smoke, you put the ribeye steak in the skillet. Wait until a crust has formed and flip the steak. When the other side looks just as pretty, take the steak out of the pan.
Put the diced onion and the chopped garlic in the pan and let the onion get soft while you keep stirring it to prevent it from burning.
Add the carrots, celery and salami and cook it for 4 to 5 minutes, so the carrots turn soft. Put in the mushrooms and let them brown a little, and pour in the diced tomatoes.
Put in the twigs of oregano and rosemary, salt and pepper, orzo and the water. Let this all simmer for 10 minutes to the point that the orzo is just a bit undercooked.
Cut the ribeye steak in slices and lay it on top. Season the steak with fleur de sell and let the steak warm up in the sauce.
