The perfect grilled chicken

Do you like grilled chicken? I do. Chicken can be amazing. It can be juicy and tender with crunchy skin and a lot of flavor. I am going to give you 6 easy steps to make your chicken taste better.

Step 1: Buy the best chicken you can afford

To get perfect grilled chicken, you have to start with a good chicken. Where is your chicken from? What did the farmer feed the chicken? Was it able to run freely?

All these things matter. A happy chicken is a tasty chicken. So get free-range chicken if you have the change. See the video to know what to look for in a good chicken.

Step 2: Prepare your chicken

Get a whole chicken and divide it into parts. This way it’s easier to cook. All the different parts must be cooked differently because of the different thicknesses and structure. This way you get the best results.

So cut your chicken up into breasts, drumettes, wings, and chicken thighs. See the video on how to do this.

Step 3: Brine the chicken

Brining your chicken is the real secret for a tasty and juicy chicken. A good brine consists of 2 liters of water and a tablespoon of salt. Stir it up until al the salt is dissolved.

Cool the water down until it is 5°C (41F) and ad the chicken. Put it in the fridge for 2 hours. When the brine is done, take the chicken out and pat it dry.

Step 4: Add flavor to your chicken

You can add any rub that you like. A good bbq rub has some paprika powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

To help the rub stick, brush on some olive oil and sprinkle on the rub.  Be careful to add too much salt because the chicken already has been brined.

Step 5: Start up your grill

This is the fun part. Grilling the chicken. Your barbecue should have a temperature of 160°C (320F). Clean the grill grates and add some olive oil so the chicken doesn’t stick to the grates.

Grill your chicken nice and crispy on the outside. The core temperature must be 75°C (167F).

Step 6: Let it rest

Take your grilled chicken off the grill lay it on some aluminum foil. Time for my secret. Add a lump of butter to the chicken and wrap it up.

Let it rest for 10 minutes. After that, unwrap and enjoy your perfectly grilled chicken.
