How to

  1. Start by grabbing a jar—this will be your mixing vessel.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of table salt, followed by 1 tablespoon each of paprika and onion powder.
  3. To these, add a teaspoon each of cumin, cinnamon, and coriander powders. These spices not only infuse your rub with classic Gyros flavors but also create a deep aromatic base.
  4. Next, stir in the herbs: 1 tablespoon each of dried oregano and parsley, along with half a tablespoon of dried thyme. These herbs contribute a fresh, earthy tone to your rub.
  5. If you like a bit of heat, toss in an optional half teaspoon of chili powder.
  6. Once all your ingredients are in the jar, secure the lid and give it a good shake to thoroughly mix everything. Your homemade Gyros BBQ rub is now ready to be used!
