Of course, it is perfectly fine to eat a steak just on its own, but it tastes so much better with a good sauce. Like we say in the Netherlands, “You can’t walk on one leg”.This steak sauce is quick and easy to make and goes perfectly as a side dish next to any grilled steak.

Equipment
- 1 Blender
Ingredients
- 1 kg cherry tomatoes
- 2 piece red onion
- 1 tbsp butter
- 150 ml red wine
- 250 ml beef stock
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Grill the tomatoes on the grates and take them off before they start to pop. Slice the onions in half and grill them until you see some grill marks.
- Put a pan on the fire and let the butter melt. Put the tomatoes and onions in and stir-fry them until they turn soft.
- Deglaze with the red wine and give it a good stir to get everything loose on the bottom of the pan. Then add the stock and let it simmer down until it’s reduced by half.
- Let it cool down a bit before putting it in a blender and grind it to a thick sauce. Season it with salt and pepper, and you’re done.
