Ingredients
Rub
- 4 tbsp PitmasterX classic bbq rub
- 1 tbsp zest of one lemon
- 1 tsp thyme powder
- 50 grams butter
BBQ sauce
- 125 ml ketchup
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp cane sugar
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp PitmasterX's classic bbq rub
- Juice of 1 fresh pressed leom
- 1 tsp thyme powder
Instructions
- Remove the membrane off the back with a dinner knife.
- Create the PitmasterX classic BBQ rub and add the zest and thyme.
- Sprinkle the rub over the ribs. (all sides)
- Fire up your BBQ and set the temperature to 110°C/230°F and add some smoke wood, we used cherry wood.
- After 3 hour check how the ribs are doing, and start making the BBQ sauce.
- Grab a pan, add the ingredients for the sauce and stir it well and let it come to a boil.
- Wrap the ribs in aluminium foil, add some butter and your sauce and place them bach in to your BBQ.
- After an hour it should be done, if you really want to know, measure the temperature of the ribs, use a thermometer and let it cook until it hits a core temperature of 94°C/201°F.
- When they are done, brush them with a little bit of BBQ sauce while they are resting. After 5 minutes you are done!
