Basic chicken dry rub

This all-purpose chicken dry rub works on all chicken parts. You can customize the rub to your taste with cayenne pepper for more heat or dried basil or marjoram if that is what you like.

  • 1 part salt
  • 1 part paprika powder
  • 1 part onion powder
  • ¼ part garlic powder
  • ¼ part turmeric
  • ¼ part chili flakes
  • 1 part parsley dried


  • Mix the dry rub ingredients and sprinkle an even layer on the chicken.
  • Then you grill or smoke it just the way you like.
